Dr. Bibek Koirala

Dr. Bibek Koirala earned his M.D. at Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine, Nepal, he completed a residency, in internal medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital/Harvard Medical School and his Fellowship in infectious disease at the University of Massachusetts. He is an infectious disease physician at Stamford Health Medical Group. Dr. Koirala is committed to educating his patients about their condition, their treatment plan and recovery process. Dr. Koirala cares for patients with bone and joint infections, complicated and complex infections, heart valve infections, cancer, HIV/AIDS, Lyme disease, pneumonia and patients who are immunocompromised. He has a particular interest in caring for patients diagnosed with viral hepatitis and those who are HIV positive. Dr. Koirala has received an Edward H. Kass Award for Clinical Excellence from Massachusetts Infectious Disease Society in 2013 and was named as Specialty Attendee of the Year from 2018-19. He has written a book chapter “Adenovirus Virus & the Lung” in 2014. Dr. Koirala is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America, American College of Physicians, and the Connecticut Infectious Diseases Society.
